DANVILLE, Pa. — Geisinger Medical Center (GMC) has been designated a Partner in MS Care for neurological care by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

The Partner in MS Care award is a national recognition given to medical centers that provide comprehensive multiple sclerosis care and are dedicated to the prevention and treatment of multiple sclerosis. To obtain the neurological care distinction, centers must establish a collaborative nature and physicians and medical professionals must offer demonstrated knowledge and experience when caring for patients in need.

“This recognition signifies our commitment to providing superior care that is focused on the complex, specialized needs of multiple sclerosis patients,” said Carl Hoegerl, D.O., neurologist, Geisinger Health System. “While this is an affirmation of the high-quality care we offer, we will continue to strive for continuous improvement in the support and treatment we provide both MS patients and their families.”

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society represents a country-wide network of medical centers, independent physicians and researchers dedicated to addressing the challenges of the patient diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
