DANVILLE, Pa. – Geisinger Medical Center and Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., were recently awarded the National Research Corporation’s Consumer Choice Award for 2011-12. The awards are a result of patient surveys that recognize healthcare providers that demonstrate the best quality in their regions.
“Being named the winner of the Consumer Choice Award is a testament to the daily efforts of everyone at Geisinger who strives to provide patients with the best possible experience,” said John Bulger, D.O., chief quality officer, Geisinger Health System. “At Geisinger, we recognize the need for high-quality care in central Pennsylvania and take great pride in delivering specialized services to the region’s residents.”
The Consumer Choice Award recognizes facilities that achieve a level of service that is valued by customers in central Pennsylvania. Results are based on a nationally syndicated study of more than 250,000 households.
“Geisinger has made a long-term commitment to high-quality care and we will continue to improve the way we care for and treat our community members in their moment of need,” said Dr. Bulger. “We remain committed to building upon the positive experiences patients have here and to making those experiences even better in the months and years to come.”
