LEWISBURG, Pa. – Neelkamal Soares, M.D., FAAP, recently joined the Geisinger-Bucknell Autism and Developmental Medicine Center in Lewisburg as a neurodevelopmental pediatrician.
Prior to joining Geisinger, Dr. Soares most recently served as an associate professor of pediatrics at the David Geffen School of Medicine, University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and as director of the developmental-behavioral pediatric fellowship at Mattel Children’s Hospital at UCLA, both since 2012.
Dr. Soares earned his medical degree in 1995 at the University of Bombay, India. Dr. Soares completed his pediatric residency in 1999 at the University of Illinois at Chicago Hospitals. He then pursued a developmental-behavioral pediatrics fellowship with the University of Maryland, Baltimore, which he completed in 2002.
Board certified in pediatrics and developmental-behavioral pediatrics, Dr. Soares is highly involved in review and editorial services, teaching activities and various research publications. He frequently participates in lectures and presentations, both nationally and internationally.
Dr. Soares is currently a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics.
