SELINSGROVE, Pa. — Representatives from the Kohl's Cares initiatives at Kohl's Department Stores presented the Geisinger Health System Foundation a check for $83,736 on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at the safe and healthy Halloween event for kids at Geisinger-Susquehanna University, a service of Geisinger Medical Center (GMC). The funds will be used by Geisinger’s Janet Weis Children’s Hospital (JWCH) to support the Geisinger and Kohl’s Cares Moving4Health Program.
Geisinger and the Kohl’s Cares Moving4Health program provides innovative childhood obesity prevention, education, resources and activities so children can learn to make healthy choices on their own. It brings valuable health and wellness education to families through www.moving4health.org.
“The funds given by Kohl’s will launch a vitally important program to our region in terms of childhood obesity prevention, which will ultimately result in our children living healthier lives,” said Michael Ryan, DO, FAAP, FACOP, chairman, Geisinger’s Janet Weis Children’s Hospital. “We are pleased to be partnering with Kohl’s on this initiative.”
