DANVILLE – Geisinger Medical Center’s Interventional Pain Department will host a free health fair that will be focused on chronic pain. The event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at the Interventional Pain Center at Geisinger-Woodbine, located at 115 Woodbine Lane, Danville.
During the event, educational materials will be available on treatment options including epidural injections, nutrition, spinal cord stimulation therapy, physical therapy and bariatric surgery. Tours of Geisinger’s state-of-the-art pain management facility will be offered, and interventional pain physicians and staff will be on hand to meet with participants. Representatives also will be available to discuss support groups, educational programs, assistive devices and tai chi. Giveaways will also be provided.
A 6 p.m. panel discussion will include staff from the Interventional Pain and Physical Therapy departments, as well as patient representatives - clinic patients who volunteer their time to provide feedback about services and assist with projects to improve patient care.
