HARRISBURG, Pa. – Meagan Fernandez, DO, pediatric orthopedic surgeon, Geisinger Health System, is now offering outreach services at Geisinger Pediatric Specialties – Harrisburg, 6085 Linglestown Road. Dr. Fernandez will offer pre- and post-operative consultations in Harrisburg while performing surgical procedures at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Dr. Fernandez joined Geisinger in 2011 and is a 2005 graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed an orthopedic surgery residency in 2010 at Pinnacle Health System in Harrisburg and a pediatric orthopedic surgery fellowship in 2011 at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta – Scottish Rite Hospital in Atlanta, Ga.
Dr. Fernandez offers a full spectrum of pediatric orthopaedic surgical services, including scoliosis, pediatric tumors, clubfeet and pediatric foot deformities, arthroscopic surgeries of hips, knees, ankles, shoulders and elbows, as well as ACL reconstruction, meniscus repairs and shoulder instability. For surgical treatment of scoliosis, Dr. Fernandez is the only physician in Pennsylvania to utilize the Renaissance™ system – a robotic spine assist technology that uses 3D software to help pinpoint the exact location of implants.
Dr. Fernandez is a member of various professional organizations including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association.
