WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center (GWV) recently earned Cycle IV Chest Pain Center Accreditation from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC), becoming one of 800 hospitals nationwide with SCPC accreditation and just one of 26 in Pennsylvania.
The accreditation recognizes hospitals worldwide that are dedicated to providing comprehensive cardiovascular procedures and optimizing care of heart-related disorders, ensuring patient satisfaction and promoting a healthier lifestyle.
“The accreditation is a testament to the hard work of the professionals involved in any stage of patient care,” said John Zelonis, associate vice president, GWV. “This helps us to continue working toward our commitment of providing advanced techniques and dedication to excellence in all areas of cardiovascular care.”
The SCPC is an international non-profit organization that is dedicated to improving clinical processes and quality patient care. GWV was thoroughly evaluated to ensure requirements and standards of the Cycle IV Chest Pain Center Accreditation were met, including assessment of the facilities, role in heart disease education and use of innovative methods of care.
