DANVILLE, Pa. – Kenneth Wood, D.O., chief medical officer, Geisinger Medical Center (GMC), was elected to the board of directors of the Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) on December 11 in Harrisburg.
Dr. Wood has served as chief medical officer of GMC since 2010. He previously served Geisinger Health System as director of critical care medicine (2010-11), director of eICU (2009-11), and vice-chairman of the Division of Medicine (2009-10).
Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in critical care medicine, Dr. Wood is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, American College of Physicians, Society of Critical Care Medicine, Pennsylvania Medical Society, Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Society and the American College of Physician Executives, in addition to HAP.
HAP is a statewide membership services organization that advocates for nearly 250 Pennsylvania acute and specialty care, primary care, subacute care, long-term care, home health and hospice providers, as well as the patients and communities they serve.
