DANVILLE, Pa. – Both Geisinger Medical Center and Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center have earned Women’s Choice Awards as America’s Best Breast Centers. They are two of just 14 Pennsylvania hospitals to earn the distinction.
All awarded centers have met the standards of the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers and carry the Breast Imaging Center of Excellence seal from the American College of Radiology. They also have above average patient recommendation ratings according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
“Breast care is extremely vital to women’s health and we want women to choose breast centers that have met the highest standards in caring for the needs of their female patients,” said Delia Passi, founder of the Women’s Choice Award.
According to its website (http://www.womenschoiceaward.com/about-us/), The Women’s Choice Award “is a symbol of excellence in customer experience awarded by the collective voice of women.” The awards are based on a national survey with thousands of female respondents and reflect their consumer experience and propensity to recommend the brand, product or service.
“We are pleased with this honor because it reflects not only the perceptions of our patients about the care they received, but also our commitment to meeting high national standards,” said John F. Cardella (at left), M.D., FSIR, FACR, associate chief medical officer and chairman, system radiology, Geisinger Health System radiology. “We will continue providing the highest quality care for our patients.”
